Developing Green Hydropower and Facilitating Rural Revitalization -HNAC was invited to participate in the 10th “Hydropower Today Forum”.

From May 22 to 23, 2024, the 10th "Hydropower Today Forum" was held in Hangzhou. The forum was hosted by the Ministry of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and co-hosted by the International Centre for Small Hydropower, the International Federation of Small Hydropower, and the China Electricity Construction East China Institute of Surveying and Designing, with nearly 150 participants from more than 20 countries and international organizations. With the theme of "Green Hydropower for Sustainable Rural Development", the forum focused on the realization of the value of hydropower eco-products and investment and financing, new technology and application of small hydropower, and the standard to help sustainable rural development to carry out extensive exchanges and in-depth discussions.

As the Changsha base of the International Small Hydropower Center and the vice chairman of the Multi-energy Complementary Specialized Committee of the International Federation of Small Hydropower, HNAC was invited to participate in this activity, and was recommended as the member of the first working committee of "Green Hydropower for Rural Revitalization" during the meeting. HNAC is deeply engaged in the field of energy, in the power station automation and control equipment market share of the world's leading, was awarded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of small and medium-sized hydropower station automation system products of the manufacturing industry single champion enterprises, is a multi-energy IOT technology leader. The forum released the second batch of "excellent cases of Sino-foreign hydropower international cooperation", which reflects the international influence of Chinese hydropower technology and highlights the positive contribution of China in promoting global energy transformation and green development. A total of 12 excellent cases were selected, and the efficiency expansion and automation upgrade projects of 3 hydropower stations in Uzbekistan, which HNAC participated in the construction of, were successfully selected. At the conference, Mr. Yang Feng, General Manager of HNAC O&M Company, delivered a speech on the topic of "Exploration of Operation and Management Mode of Modernization and Upgrading of Small Hydropower in the New Era", focusing on the company's exploration and application practice in the service mode, operation mode and profit mode of green transformation and modernization and upgrading of small hydropower. He hopes to join hands with government associations, small hydropower enterprises and specialized companies to accelerate the modernization and upgrading of small hydropower in China and the world, realize the green and high-quality development of small hydropower, and help rural revitalization.

During the event, the second plenary meeting of the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee on Small Hydropower (ISO/TC 339) was held simultaneously to discuss and adopt the recommendations of the relevant new work proposals and the organization of the next plenary meeting, and Lin Shilai, General Engineer of HNAC International Company, took part in the meeting. ISO/TC 339 defines the scope of the development of small hydropower stations of 30,000 kilowatts and below in the areas of siting, design, construction, construction and management.

On the morning of May 23, the forum adopted the Hangzhou Declaration, calling on the international community to empower rural revitalization with sustainable development of green hydropower, actively play a leading role in the existing mechanism to promote the standards first, and continuously expand the connotation and scope of global South-South cooperation, so as to implement the water-related goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and to promote the construction of a commonwealth of human destiny by injecting hydropower into the dynamic power. During the meeting, representatives of HNAC conducted friendly negotiations with domestic and foreign guests, introduced HNAC's multi-energy IOT technology, hydropower and other related products, and carried out in-depth exchanges on small hydropower energy cooperation, new energy multi-energy complementary market development, etc., laying a solid foundation for the follow-up of the depth of layout and development of the global market for small hydropower. Mr. Huang Wenbao, Chairman of HNAC, was invited to participate in the activity, and Mr. Li Manyu, Chairman of HNAC-Operation and Maintenance Company, Mr. Gan Xuefeng, Deputy General Manager of HNAC Energy Division, and Mr. Zhou Qi, General Manager of HNAC-Operation and Maintenance (Zhejiang) Company, participated in the meeting together.
